Letters From Santa!

"I have long believed, as have many before me, that peaceful relations between nations require mutual respect between individuals."
~ President Dwight D. Eisenhower

President Dwight D. Eisenhower believed that ordinary citizens of different nations, if able to communicate directly, would solve their differences and find a way to live in peace. In 1956 he put those believes into action and Created People To People Ambassador programs whose mission developed around personal exchanges and firsthand experiences with other cultures.

President John F. Kennedy said it best: "The nature of People to People activities is as varied as the individuals involved... the power of people, acting as individuals, to respond imaginatively to the world's need for peace."

People to People Student Ambassador Programs are invitation-only programs that provide international educational opportunities for grade school, junior high school, and high school students. Our journeys combine hands-on cultural experiences, behind-the-scenes access to fascinating people and places, and amazing outdoor adventures to create life-changing educational experiences. You can learn more about them on their website at www.studentambassadors.org.

Who Am I?

My name is Christine Langford (People to People Delegate ID# 812330) and I am a high school Freshman. I recently received the honor of being nominated, interviewed, and selected to participate in the People to People delegation to Australia in July 2007. I am excited to participate in this unique educational journey. I need to raise $6,500 for the trip and as you can see from the thermometer above, I have raised just about $2,000 from yard sales, EBay auctions, bake sales, letters from Santa, and private donations. Your purchase of one of the items outlined below will assist greatly in meeting my goal and is very much appreciated.

What Am I Doing To Raise Funds?
LETTERS FROM SANTA:
You can have a letter from "Santa" written to the youngster in your life - a son, daughter, niece, nephew, friend, etc. Complete the information here (or click on the Santa Letters! tab to the left) so that I can personalize the letter to the child. With the help of my grandparents who live in Alaska, the letters will be mailed from the North Pole with a North Pole postage mark! (That's right - there really IS a town in Alaska called North Pole!) The letter will be on decorative holiday paper and mailed in a decorative "Santa" envelope. I am asking for a minimum $5 donation to cover costs and leave some for profit for the fundraising.

Gift Jars:
I am selling decorative gift jars with all the dry ingredients for making chocolate chip cookies or soup! These make great gifts for a neighbor, co-worker, the mailman, etc. They are available even after the holidays. A minimum suggested donation is $10 per jar, plus shipping. Email me for more info at

Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies:
We can take all the work out of the cookies for you and send you these delicious cookies, homemade with lots of love and chocolate (but no nuts for those who may be allergic!) They come a dozen to a bag and I am asking for a minimum $5 donation per bag plus shipping. Like your cookies hot out of the oven? Just put them in the microwave for 10 seconds to get them chocolatey-gooey good! Email me for more info at
